Storage & handling principles

Separate theoretical quantity from preparation stability.

There is no universal storage window

A dry material, a reconstituted solution and a finished formulation can have different stability requirements. Temperature, light, moisture, container and handling may all matter. Use the documented conditions for the exact preparation.

Keep a usable record

Record the material identity, lot, preparation date, solvent or vehicle, concentration and documented storage conditions. Any applicable expiry or beyond-use instruction should remain attached to the prepared material.

Quantity is not shelf life

A calculator might estimate enough material for several weeks. That number reflects mass and frequency only. It cannot determine sterility, chemical stability or whether the prepared material remains suitable for that entire period.

Read product-specific notes

The preparation and storage section on each profile follows the selected source specification. When instructions conflict or supporting data are missing, treat the uncertainty as unresolved rather than borrowing a storage rule from another compound.
